Horse Racing
Just as in France in 1998 and Korea/Japan in 2002, 32 teams will take part in Germany 2006. Obviously, Germany will have automatic qualification as hosts. However, the winner of the tournament in 2002 will still have to qualify, as proposed by FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter.

The fact that there will be an additional place in the finals to play for will make things more even in the qualification phases, where the places are allocated proportionately to the respective football federations.

The draw for the qualifying groups is scheduled for December 5, 2003, in Frankfurt am Main while the draw for the finals should take place at the turn of the year 2005/2006 in Leipzig.
